We are pleased to announce that the National Heritage Institute has awarded funding for the project entitled: The Early Medieval Fortified Settlement at Tarnawa Rzepińska. Results of archival, excavation and non-invasive research. The project is being carried out as part of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage’s programme ‘Protection of Archaeological Monuments’ by the Archaeological Museum of the Middle Odra Region in Świdnica and the Centre for Medieval Archaeology of the Baltic States at the Institute of Archaeology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Szczecin. The project will result in a multi-authored publication presenting the results of geophysical surveys of the settlement, which were carried out over two seasons (magnetic, electrical resistivity and ground-penetrating radar surveys), the results of research into the ancient natural environment (palynological analyses), as well as a comprehensive study of the findings from the excavations conducted by Edward Dąbrowski in the 1960s.
